Week 19: Evaluate mentors' feedback, iterate our screens, and brainstorm ideas for product video

Updated: May 27, 2022

We had our second speed mentoring session before we left for Passover vacation. In around 15 minutes, we talked with each mentor from the industry, explained and presented our app, asked questions and got some feedback.

Thanks to Lucy Anderson Bashan, Tom Hitron, Omer Pomerantz and Prof. Ron Nabbaro, we have collected great suggestions for improving our product:

  • Value proposition refinement needs to be done. The goal is to provide a space free of practices that allow couples to interact in a way they have never done before.

  • Due to the habituation of personal notes creation and the boredom that can arise for users, we need to find another way to encourage users to stay in the app and continue sending gestures and notes to each other.

  • Our homepage still evokes a sense of functionality. It doesn't reflect the feeling of "me and my partner's space".

  • After the partner receives the note from her/his partner, a response needs to be delivered to the one who sent it. It doesn't have to be expressed in creating a gesture, but leaving a ‘small’ indication = ‘Quick Reactions’ on Instagram.

  • While using the app, we need to emphasize what is in it for him? What does the user get while using the app and what will he get later?

Moreover, since we are getting closer to the end of this process, we need to start thinking of ideas for a video that will introduce our app in an attractive and intriguing way. We decided to start by meeting in person at Maya's home in Tel Aviv to gather inspiration. Maya and her parents made us feel very welcome. Together we brainstormed what the video would look like. We have ended up with a first draft for the potential script including voice and visual - Soon you’ll watch it 😉

Then we met Hezi, our UX expert mentor, who helped us improve the user experience of some of our screens. We decided not to focus on the main page at this particular meeting, as we have observed that according to users (who have been user-tested by us), most of the main values and features have been delivered (we still have a lot of work to do) and we want to make sure we don't neglect other screens.

In the last week of Passover vacation, we had another user testing round with 5 potential users from our target audience. The insights were:

  • This time the app was perceived as a 'couple space' by users

  • There is a bit confusion between the notes on iPhone and the note creation on our app

  • The upper 'Send' button doesn't seem intuitive to users

  • 3 users (out of 4) understood the meaning of the sending options

  • The purpose of the gamification's objects, isn't clear to the users

Dotan has been dealing with the backend side of the app.

  • currently succeeded to implement the connectivity of the uploading proces between the local DB and the cloud DB.

  • started working on service for the synchronization of the local DB and the cloud DB

  • started working on service for tracking the user location

Unfortunatly in both cases got to into trouble - so it still doesn't work.

I’m optimistic that I will be able to do that next week.
