Week 7: Ideation

Updated: Mar 2, 2022

The Ideations at It’s best.

This week we continued the ideation process. In class we had 2 amazing ideation exercises. We started with an activity called "Copy from the best" in which we performed a brainstorming session of all team members. In this activity, we were asked to choose a favorite technological product and explain why we like it. Then take the principals we like from it and implement them on our product. In class we chose to focus on is a smart TV.

The benefits of the smart TV:

• It includes fast connections to various applications

• It has a casting feature, enabling mirroring of other digital devices such as smart phones onto the TV screen

• It has good synchronization

• it's an ALL IN ONE technology.

The second activity called "expert assistant". In this activity we were asked to create a scenario in which Netta and Itay have “the perfect assistant”. This assistant have superpowers and knows everything. In our scenario, the couple's assistant gives them grate tips and advice throughout the day that improves the quality of their relationship by helping to pay close attention to each other. Through the exercise, we thought of "extreme" scenarios that we would not initially have thought of. As part of our solution, we decided on various issues and emphases that we put into our final scenario and later implemented them in the solution.

Among the topics we decided to include are:

• Shared memories from the past

• The peripherality of technology with the couple in their shared time

• Suggestion for romantic gestures

• Joint gestures

• Request and collect data from users

• Quiet mode during busy times

• Important events reminders

• Uses positive psychology to achieve the goal

During these exercises, the mentors helped us look at things from a different perspective and open our minds to new directions.

After the class was over, during the week, we kept looking for more principles from other products and from the “expert assistant” that we can implement in our app. These activities helped us pinpoint our scenario and solution. Finally we wrote a “product scenario” that describes how our app interact and helps Netta and Itay communicate better.

The experience was fun and different from things we had done in the past and we felt liberated to go wild with our imagination. Cannot wait for the next week.
