Week 9: Speed mentoring

Updated: May 17, 2022

This week we had our first meeting with five inspiring mentors. During each session, we presented our idea, while the mentors gave us notes and shared their opinion on the idea. We all agreed the speed mentoring was helpful and made us all think further about the changes we need to make with our idea.

After every speed session, we summed the feedback given to us by the mentors. some of the dominant feedbacks were:

· Refine the "need" and "pain" of the user.

· Focus the target audience by stages of the relationship and not necessarily by age, as we did.

· Adjust the features of the product to the result we are aiming for – emerging closeness feeling doesn't necessarily lead to an effective conversation at the end of the day.

· Think of a gentle way to communicate the product to "happy" couples that are unaware or ready to confess they are having problems with their relationship routine.

Later that week we met at the university and conquered a seminar classroom to ourselves, for a couple of hours (:

We understood that "quality dialogue" at the end of the day isn't the accurate need of our couple's persona. We asked ourselves few intimate questions about our personal romantic relationship and talked about it. Later that week, we inteviewed 10 more potential user's to validate the new relevant need, addressing the following questions:

  • What does your day look like?

  • Where and how is your relationship aspect expressed daily?

  • You have a whole empty week, what will you do together?

  • What is the thing you love the most that your partner does?

  • What was the last conversation with your partner about?

  • What would you like your partner to do more?

  • What are you missing now in your relationship?

  • What "sucks" you in the relationship?

  • What do you most like to do together?

Using all the feedback from the mentors and the potential users, we adjusted our “How Might We” question and the "scenario", featuring more reasonable features and aspects of the product.

We are very excited about the next meeting that will include building the first prototype of our app! We are ready to rock!
